I know….the first of the year is not the time to think about candy! Especially after eating so many goodies during the holidays !!! But, I had to share an incredible recipe that my dear friend, Rhoda, unfortunately introduced me to because now I AM ADDICTED ! So, even though it is time for resolutions…which “eating healthy” is at the top of all our lists
, I had to share this recipe that we enjoyed and enjoyed and enjoyed over the holidays …..read it over…. print the recipe, and store with those Christmas decorations….and next year, YOU MUST TRY THEM ! They turn out so professional that they make the nicest hostess gifts, too ! Okay….enough….on to the recipe !!
Tricia Yearwood’s Crock-Pot Chocolate Candy
36 oz. salted dry-roasted peanuts
4 oz. German Sweet Chocolate Squares
1 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 ½ lbs white candy bark
Place all of the peanuts in the bottom of a crock pot.
Layer on top of the peanuts in this order:
First….layer german sweet choc squares –broken into squares
Next…layer chocolate chips
Last – layer white candy bark – broken into squares
Cover and set the temperature to WARM and cook for 3 hours.
( recipe calls for LOW, but it is known to burn the peanuts in the newer crock pots)
Do not stir.
After 3-4 hours, stir the mixture thoroughly with a wooden spoon until smooth…takes quite a few good stirs to get it all mixed !
Drop the candy into small cupcake liners ( I bought Christmas themed ones at Joann’s / Michaels) or you can just drop onto wax paper.
A small cookie dough scoop is perfect.
Allow the candy to cool completely – you can even chill to really set.
Makes about 50 or more !
HERE THEY ARE…..FEATURED IN RHODA’S BLOG….SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY !
Have fun making them….everyone will THANK YOU !
Thanks for stopping by !
